Lawrence Ehlers

Born August 14, 1907. Son of Mr. and Mrs. B.C. Ehlers. Joined the Infantry at Fort Sill, Oklahoma at the age of 24 years. Served at Fort Sill 5 years in peace time from there transferred to Manila. Served there 2 years. Our of service 3 years. Again in sevice 1 year and died June 11, 1943 in Japanese Prison Camp at the age of 35 years 10 months of Malaria Fever as War Department Report is.

I have more accurate information about PFC Lawrence Ehlers.

31st Infantry Regiment, Company F

Entered the Service from: Texas
Died: August 24, 1942, in Cabantuan POW camp, in the Nueva Ecija, Philippines. Cause of death is listed as Dysentery and Malaria.
Buried at: Plot N Row 5 Grave 52, Manila American Cemetery, Manila, Philippines.

While on Bataan, he served in the Battle of Layac Junction, Jan. 2 to Jan. 6, the Battle of Abucay Hacienda, Jan 16 to Jan 25, and the Battle of the Trails, April 3 to April 9.
