HARRY E. WHITE (19?? - 1942)

October 24, 2005

Hi,

I've found much interesting information about the "Bataan Death March" on your site.

Thought you might be able to suggest some follow-up about my cousin, Captain Harry E. White (U.S. Army, Mississippi), listed as a supervisor of nurses, and died October, 1942. The family was told he died in a Japanese Prison Camp. Family tradition is that he was part of the Bataan Death March.

His sister (living) recalls that 1n 1942, the family learned he was MIA, and at wars-end, they learned he had died a POW. He was buried/ or re-interred at the Manila American Cemetery per the family's request following the war.

Seeking personnel or detailed, book sources before getting bogged down at the National Archives, etc.

Thanks for any assistance,
