THE HOLDSWORTH FAMILY
As listed in "Santo Tomas" by Frederic Stevens: Phil Ross Holdsworth (husband, 1910 - 2001) Violet Opal Holdsworth (wife, 1908 - 1993)) March 26, 2009 Dear Mr. Moore My father Phil, a mining engineer at the Mindanoa Motherload was captured along with my mother Peggy. They spent approximately two years in Santo Tomas until liberation. The folks returned to Alaska where Dad, as the States first Commisioner of Natural Resources, was largely responsible for making possible the discovery and development of the largest oil field in the United States, Pudhoe Bay. Prudhoe Bay accounts for 90% of Alaska's revenue. My parents had a wonder and rich life. Mother passed 11/15/93 and Dad passed 6/1/01. Sincerely, Bruce Holdsworth fortybelow@alaska.net or if you would like to be added to my POW/Internee e-mail distribution list, please let me, Tom Moore, know. Thanks! |
