Tom,

My mother's maiden name was Bowler so it was Martha Bowler Trogstad. She was married to a mining engineer, Bill Trogstad, who joined the army in Jan. and eventually died at Camp O'Donnell.

Bill Trogstad and my dad's first wife, Gladys Waterstradt, are buried in the American cemetery in Manila. Gladys died in camp.

Both of my parents, Martha Trogstad and Buck Waterstradt, were interned at Santo Tomas then Los Banos and rescued 2/23/45. Both began their internment at Santo Tomas. No other family members were in camp. My parents met in Los Banos and were married when they returned to the states. My dad passed away in 1998 and my mother in 2002.

My parents eventually moved to Stallion Springs in Tehachapi, CA and were very active in the American Ex POW group in Bakersfield.

They are buried in front of the little Episcopal church, St. Jude's in Tehachapi.

I am an assistant principal at a high school in Montgomery County, Maryland - right outside DC.
