Jane-Austin Harding Moss
MOULTRIE — Jane-Austin Harding Moss, 85, of Moultrie died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at her residence.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at First Presbyterian Church of Moultrie with the Rev. Hugh Ward officiating. Pallbearers will be Denny Bassham, Murray Campbell, Mike McLean, Scott Hart, Jay Larew, Ron Piermonte, Robert Hutson and Cliff Wingate. Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Mims, Todd Murphy, Brooks Sheldon, Billy Mock, Sport Holwell, Bo Baell, Randall Mercer, Robert Hutson III and Hobie Billingsley.

Born Feb. 7, 1919, in Champaign, Ill., Mrs. Moss was the daughter of the late A.A. Harding and the late Margaret Frances Rogers Harding, D.O. She worked as a model, fashion designer, stewardess and helped to found the Moss Farms Aquatic Center. She was a member, major benefactor and former treasurer of Poplar Arbor Congregational Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Charles “Moose” Moss.

Survivors include two sons, Steven Harding Moss of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Richard Lee Moss of Doerun; two daughters, Merry Lynne Moss Warfel of Tallahassee, Fla., and Margaret Austin Moss Benner of Moultrie; nine grandchildren, Jeffery Moss of Camilla, Jennifer Warfel Arrendale of Decatur, Abby Benner Rousseau of Spartanburg, S.C., Clayton Moss of Lexington, Ky., Ashley Benner of Charlotte, N.C., Matthew Moss of Princeton, N.J., Kendall Moss of Cuthbert, Mark Moss of Ft. Pierce, Fla., and Christopher Warfel of Tallahassee, Fla.; and a great-grandchild, Ethan Moss of Camilla.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 tonight at Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home.

The family requests memorials be made to Moss Farms Diving, Inc., P.O. Box 1060, Moultrie, Ga. 31768, or to Colquitt Regional Hospice, 2516 Fifth Ave. S.E., Moultrie, Ga. 31768.

Harrell-Faircloth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
