March 9,2021 Hello Craig, Tom, Eve, Peggy, Frank and Others, Thank You for all you guys have done and continue to do to keep The CNAC Family connected. We hope this email finds everyone staying well and in good spirits. Patty and I are doing OK here in Santa Rosa CA, as is my mother, Isabel Michiels. Isabel has been residing in a nearby assisted living facility since January 2021, and will turn 97 in May. She remains in good health and sends her regards to all. I recently stumbled across an old box of loose, dusty and scratched 35mm slides. Among the slides were 17 taken in 1962 at the AVG-CNAC Reunion held at the Ojai Valley Inn in Ojai. I scanned the slides containing images of people, and will attach the corresponding JPEG files to this and 2 other following emails in case they are of interest or use to others. I have noted names in the JPEG filenames where I recognized people, but most of the people are unidentified. My mother, Isabel, would probably know more if not all of the names but it is currently logistically difficult to review the images with her. So we thought it best to send them out now to be viewed by anyone interested. As always, please feel free to circulate, view, use/not use the pictures however desired. I have fond childhood memories of attending the AVG-CNAC gatherings in Ojai as a young kid. Mostly I remember the great pool there where most kids spent most of our time. I remember how much my parents enjoyed seeing their special friends. These every-other-year Ojai gatherings were pretty plush affairs due to major generosities of Flying Tiger Line, VIPs that always included representation by political interests and the military (USA and Nationalist China both, typically), noteworthy annual recognitions and honorees, and Fun Guys still in their prime that seemed to have what I subsequently came to recognize as a notable Flying Tigers and CNAC ‘Swagger’. All pretty fun stuff. I apologize for not being certain enough to identify more of the people in these pictures. But I hope that those interested will be able to pick out family members and others when viewing them. Thanks Again for all your efforts on behalf of and for the enjoyment of others.
