Ding-Tze Chen was killed in a plane crash over the Hump, October 7, 1944. After his death, Ding-Tze Chen's childern went to live with their great-uncle, CNAC Captain Hugh En Chen. Ding-Tze Chen and Hugh Chen flew the HUMP many times between Calcutta, India and Kunming.
