GILMORE VINCENT MINNIS
"Gil"
(1909 - 1990)
The bon voyage party sending Emil off takes place on board the Coolidge. Georgi is in the poka-dot dress (check the matching shoes) and her "Scotty" is standing to her right -- with the curl hanging over his forehead. The only other person I have been able to identify in this photo is Chrystal Schultz -- soon to become Mrs. Robert Angle. Chrystal is in the center wearing a dark dress and hat, and Bob Angle's wings on her bodice. If so, please contact me. Thanks. Click here for a larger and higher resolution of the above picture. FLASH-NEWS ALERT-July 18, 2017 The face of the man behind and to Georgi's left. A collective "we" believe this is Gilmore "Gil" Vincent Minnis, Col. USAF Retired (1909-1990). Former base and wing commander of Norton AFB, California Your comments are most welcome Tom Moore, pepperbud@pobox.com The San Bernardino Country Sun Monday, December 10, 1990 San Bernardino, California Using Ancestry.com I was able to find an address on Gil's surviving daughter, Sandra M. Tucker in Charlottesville, VA. I wrote to her July 21, 2017. Several days later I received a call from a woman telling me that she was absolutely stunned reading my letter and looking at a picture of her father that she had never seen before. She also thinks that is her mother just behind her father to his right. It has taken almost 80 years for this photo to reach Sandra. I'm very happy to have completed part of this pictures' long journey. It may yet have other lives to follow and live with. Stay tuned... "Stay Tuned" is putting mild... January 12, 2018 Sandra sends me two pictures of her parents wedding. And two more names surface, Rom and Alice Puryear, who stood up for Gil and Viola Minnis. Click on Rom and Alice's names for more of this very interesting "less-than-six-degrees-of-seperation"... please let me, Tom Moore, know. Thanks! |
