Tom, Here is some info of Yi Zhang.

Yi Zhang was born in 1917 and passed passed away in the mid 1990's. He graduated from the 10th class of Whampoa Military Academy and the 9th class of the Chinese Air Force Academy. He joined CNAC in 1948 as a co-pilot. He took part in the 1949 "defection/uprising" and was in the captain's seat of a C-46, code XT-144, to join 11 other aircraft heading north from Hong Kong Kai Tak Airport.
